DRINGENDE OPROEP AAN ALLE STELVIO EIGENAREN IN NEDERLAND!Er lijkt een bende actief te zijn die in de nacht van zondag op maandag inbraakpogingen heeft gedaan op meerdere Stelvio's (zowel benzine als dieselversies) waarbij ze ook minimaal een Stelvio hebben meegenomen.We hebben nu vijf meldingen uit regio Eindhoven, waarbij de radar unit was losgekoppeld en soms volledig weg/gestolen.De eigenaar van onderstaande Stelvio was zijn auto kwijt, maar had het geluk dat deze op een (tijdelijke?) stalplaats werd teruggevonden. Wij hebben deze maandagmiddag direct voorzien van een mechanische en electronische beveiliging (het anti theft armor en de startonderbreker met alarm functie).Vaak brengen de dieven meerdere bezoekjes, dus wees met name alert als je ineens foutmeldingen hebt gehad of ziet dat het kapje in de bumper los zit of weg is. The last 5-6 weeks we have been very busy with Giulias and Stelvios 2.2 JTD with oil pressure issues. As usual, we log the oil pressure at arrival, we do the work and log afterwards. In all cases the difference was significant, with 1 to 2.5 bar higher oil pressure when they leave the shop. This before and after logging is something that very few will do, but it is so important. What we have seen now several times is when we remove the sump, already an oil pressure seal mod is placed, but still the pressure is low (otherwise we would not start doing the job anyway). The problem is, most workshops or dealers only rely on the low oil pressure message, but when that appears you are usually too late. The message will be triggered when the pressure is ~1 bar below normal in LOW pressure mode and ~2 bar below normal in HIGH pressure mode. And if that will happen depends on several conditions, such as oil temperature, oil amount, acceleration and of course the engine state. So the result is failing repair jobs, leaving the customer with high costs and still an unsafe engine. Therefore we hope that more workshops that do these repairs invest in tools that can log the oil pressure. We are using the Performance Logger, as it’s super easy to use by plugging it in the obd port. Newer cars from my2020 onwards have the oil pressure indication at the central screen.One car did stand out; a 2016 Giulia Super with 383.000 km. The customer got the infamous low oil pressure warning a couple of times and made an appointment. When we checked it, it was low on oil (only 3 liters instead of 4.5 ltrs), it already had the oil seal mod installed, oilpump had 3 out of 7 screws loose and the turbo was about to fail. It looks the engine was not harmed just yet, the customer acted in time. So we mounted the oil pressure fixing kit, removed and reassembled the oil pump, replaced the turbo, filled it with 5W30 oil and last but not least removed the terrible “off the shelf” tuning and made a proper tune. When we were done, oil pressure was back up to a super healthy 2.7 bar low and 5.9 bar high. A short highway test with the Performance Logger showed 245 hp/530 Nm, not too bad for an almost 400k engine. The owner can now enjoy his Giulia with confidence and drive towards 500.000+ km ! ...
