This immobilizer is another anti theft solution which combined with the very succesful anti theft armor will minimize the risk of theft to an absolute minimum.
The IMM0001 device is designed for the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio 2016-2024 models all trim, engine, market and gerbox versions.
It significantly enhances car security with independent immobilizer and alarm features.
Giulia and Stelvio models are recently seeing more and more cases of theft. Thieves use several well-known methods to steal these cars: using a radar (key fob cloning), “relay theft” (communicating with a remote original key fob via a so-called radio bridge / a signal repeater – for example when you’re waiting in line at a store), by stealing your keys or taking your car by force using a tow truck.
All of these methods are fast: for some of them, it takes less than one minute to steal a car.
Existing security systems usually do not counteract all of those theft methods, or require specialized installation that includes cutting and tapping into the car wiring harness, and are therefore not only more expensive, but also void the vehicle warranty.
The immobilizer poses a major obstacle for a potential thief. Even if a thief is familiar with it, having to remove it will require a significant amount of time.
The device provides effective protection against all the theft methods mentioned above, keeping the car immobilized and tilt&shake alarms active. Also, it is simple enough to install, taking only about 20-40 minutes with no cable cutting or soldering needed, as it taps into the car’s electrical harness using compatible connectors.
Main features of the device
• Immobilizer: the START button will not work until the user’s PIN code is entered (this can be done using the radio controls on the right button panel of the steering wheel)
• Automatic arming 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off
• Alarms: tilt alarm (slower but very restrictive) and shock alarm (immediate but less sensitive) that automatically arm 30 seconds after the immobilizer arms. They react to the car being lifted or towed, wheel theft attempts or a parked car fender bender as well as tamper attempts with the harness/panel to remove the immobilizer. Car’s horn is used for alarms.
• Car’s digital bus unexpected communication with steering wheel alarm, configurable for cars with and without Remote Start feature (we do not block Remote Start, but we do alarm if not allowed via setting)
• Attempts of putting wrong PIN triggers horn
• Garage mode (for servicing) – to deactivate the immobilizer and alarms in order to leave the car in a garage
• Programmable user PIN (sequence of 3 to 10 button presses)
• Independent activation and deactivation of tilt and shock alarms
• Setting changes are PIN-protected and stored in non-volatile memory so they are not lost when the car battery is disconnected
• Quick and easy one-time deactivation of tilt and shock alarms (useful during wheel change and transport by a ferry or a tow track)
• Green/red LED to indicate device statuses
• USB-C connector for uploading newer firmware or diagnostics
• Low power consumption: during operation (typ. 20 mA) and automatic reduced power consumption mode (typ. 6.5 mA)
